Delmenhorst / Ganderkesee, 1 June 2026 – The ATLAS Group and the Canadian Buhler Versatile – a leading North American manufacturer of agricultural machinery with a production footprint in Winnipeg, Manitoba – have reached commercial agreement on the key terms for the acquisition of all assets of the operating ATLAS Group Companies (Atlas GmbH, Atlas Spare Parts, Atlas Group Services GmbH, Atlas Kompakt GmbH and the shares held in the British company Atlas Cranes UK Ltd.). The notarization of the respective agreements is envisaged for 8 June 2026 in Hamburg.

his marks a major milestone in the restructuring of the ATLAS Group and provides clear prospects for the future. The agreement provides for the acquisition of the ongoing business operations as well as the transfer of a significant proportion the ATLAS Group’s employees. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or further details of the transaction.

Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the competent authorities, in particular approval under the German Foreign Trade and Payments Act. A further closing condition is the implementation of a personnel measure, the details of which are still to be negotiated, with the aim of finding solutions that are as socially responsible as possible. Discussions with the works council will begin shortly.

Buhler Versatile as part of the ASKO Group (a globally active, family-owned industrial group with more than 2,500 employees and established operations in agricultural and construction equipment across Turkiye, Canada and the USA) is a strategic investor with an industrial background. From Group’s perspective, key synergies lie in particular in the product portfolio: ATLAS complements Group’s existing activities with established expertise in machinery, a well-known brand, and existing dealer and customer structures. Through the intended acquisition, Buhler Versatile is also strengthening its presence in Europe. By becoming part of a broad industrial platform under the umbrella of Buhler Versatile, ATLAS will have a strong foundation for making use of the market opportunities available to it.

ATLAS is one of Germany’s well-known manufacturers of construction machinery. The group of companies, headquartered in Ganderkesee near Delmenhorst, initiated restructuring proceedings under self-administration in February 2026. To support the management team, restructuring experts Dr Malte Köster and Dr Hans-Joachim Berner from the law firm KÖSTERBERNER Sanierungsrecht were appointed as general representatives. Attorney-at-law Hendrik Gittermann from the law firm REIMER was appointed by the local court as preliminary custodian. Business operations have continued since then. In parallel, a structured international investor process was launched, which has now been successfully concluded with the agreement that has been signed. The investor process was supported by PwC under the leadership of Timo Klees and Julius Karp.
